Landmark Display Box

I created this as a tribute to my father and his wife. For years during their retirement, they spent their summers doing long hikes through the wilderness. They've hiked all over the USA and Canada, but had a particular fondness for the John Muir (JMT) and Pacific Crest (PCT) Trails.

Unfortunately, time comes for us all and a series of back and knee surgeries meant they could no longer embrace their passion. My heart has broken for them ever since this loss, and making this was something I wanted to do to honor this chapter in their lives.

The wooden case was handmade by a friend of mine who does woodworking as a hobby. Each landscape and accompanying tag was modeled in Blender and then 3D printed. Like always with a project like this, it took a little longer than I expected it to, but I'm pretty happy with the results.
